Have you ever received an award? Any award — a plaque, medal or even a simple certificate in recognition of your achievement in any field? Organizations such as schools, offices, government services and the military periodically hold award programs. These organizations aim to give due credit and recognition to individuals who did what was expected of them over a specific period of time, thus, positively contributing to the success of the organization by attaining various goals. Over the years, this kind of reward system has been practiced by various organizations to recognize outstanding achievement and excellence.
Individuals are exposed to award programs as early as their first year in formal education, as schools honor outstanding students who showed the highest aptitude in a subject or field of study. Awards are also given to those who excelled in extracurricular activities that gave the school honor, such as victories in sports or athletics meets, journalism, theater, or subject specific competitions like math, English and science contests.
After years in school, individuals are still surrounded by award programs to which they may qualify and even actually win. Employment in either private groups or government agencies still presents chances for awards, and the same is true even when one is serving in the army.
Award programs provide numerous categories for the awards they hand out to employees. Some, like awards for milestones in service tenure, will take a long time and require dedication and loyalty. Still, there are awards that do not take very long to accomplish, including annual awards for performance-based recognition.
An individual can get recognition for being dedicated and loyal and for achieving certain milestones in service. On the other hand, some awards are performance-based that come periodically. Today, there are many companies specializing in the production of various employee awards. Some examples of such are lapel pins, tie-tacks, rings and even high-end watches. You can check out the Internet for more examples of awards that are usually given in ceremonies.

If you run a business, you know very well that you are interdependent on many others for the success of your business: clients, partners and contractors, among others. One of the best ways to thank these very important people, and to build and maintain good relations with them is to give corporate gift baskets. A gift basket shows the recipient that they are valued by your company, and will go a long way towards encouraging repeat business. Most businesses rely on repeat business - yours is no doubt one of them. A gift basket can build and strengthen these ties between you and your customers.
What sort of corporate gift basket should you give? This depends. What is your budget for this in total, or how much are you looking to spend per gift basket? On the higher end, you can spend over $250 per basket. However, you don;t have to break the bank for this - you can find very nice gift baskets for around $70.
The second thing you should think about is what the gift basket you give should contain. Many gift baskets give a very standard offering of meat, cheese, luxury foods or candy, but you can always personalize it a little. Find a company that is willing to help you prepackage them, and when you do this, you can slip things like your corporate logo printed on a mug or a letter opener into the package. Remember that the primary goal of the gift basket is to make you and your company memorable to the people that you interact with and in doing so, foster repeat business and goodwill.
When you are thinking about sending out gift baskets, think about your own industry. What does your company offer? What can you put into the gift basket itself that speaks to what you do? If you are in the hospitality or the produce business, this is very simple, though if you are in computers or another highly technological field, you might have to think about it. Don’t forget that gift baskets can be quite creative as well. Just make sure that the person who receives them will be surprised and delighted.
It is very possible to send out several gift baskets to your best clients, but you can also send gift baskets to everyone who has done a certain amount of business with you over the past year. You’ll find that gift baskets come in several levels of complexity and luxury, and while you can make some big ticket purchases for your best customers, smaller gift baskets are still quite welcome.
Think about the message you want your gift basket to give your clients, and do your best to ensure that it conveys that message clearly. Your thoughtful gift can bring in a lot of business to your company.
