Golfing in Windy Conditions

by Ray Walberg

There are many factors to consider before you choose a club and take a swing. One of the biggest factors to consider is golf weather. While a wet course will make your ball roll slower and a dry course will have the opposite affect, it?s really the wind that will have the biggest impact on your round of golf. Wind affects the direction your ball will go after you hit it and even after it touches the ground. Here are some basic golf tips for helping you compensate for wind.

The majority of golfers are right handed so we’ll go over this as if you are right handed. If you are left handed then you?ll need to adjust accordingly.

The first thing to do is determine which way the wind is blowing. If the wind is blowing on your back then you?ll strike the ball softer than usual especially if it is a brisk wind. This can certainly work in your favor especially on a drive. Hit the ball high and let the wind do most of the work. If the wind is blowing directly into the front of you then the opposite is the case; strike the ball harder than you normally would to counteract the force of the wind.

What if the wind is blowing from the right or left? If you don?t compensate then you?ll find that your shot will fall to the left or right of your intended target and might end up rolling completely off the green. For example, if your hole is 150 yards from the tee box and the flag is in the middle of the green you?ll need to alter your stance to compensate. Depending on the amount of wind you may also need to keep the ball low so the trajectory is not as greatly impacted. If the wind is blowing severely then you may consider choosing a club bigger than usual; a five or six iron instead of a seven iron.

Usually a breeze won?t have a huge impact on putting since the wind is less powerful near the ground but this isn?t always the case. If you are on a rise or the wind is very powerful then you?ll also need to compensate on these shots. Playing golf in Spain is different than playing in the US or China.

To play golf you have to take into account a number of factors and wind is one that shouldn?t be underestimated. Next time there is a windy day, don?t skip on golfing but take advantage of it and practice on the driving range so you know how to compensate.

Land the Big One with the Right Surf Fishing Equipment

by Craig Petersen

Surf fishing requires a combination of skill, the right weather conditions and especially optimum surf fishing equipment. If any part of this equation is not present, you can expect a less than desirable catch. From children to old timers, anybody can enjoy learning how to surf fish. Many places offer surf-fishing lessons that include information about surf fishing equipment and cover fish, water and the skill’s basics.

One of the most important things to be covered during surf fishing lessons is the type of equipment and how it will work best for the ultimate fishing experience. Actually, there are very few optimal pieces of surf fishing equipment, since everybody has a favorite style and prefers equipment to enhance it.

Fishing rods work best in the surf if they are between 10 and 15 feet long, and the choice of rod length depends on what one is most comfortable with.

Different kinds of tackle such as leaders, weights, hooks and swivels are good to carry for a variety of feeders. Some surf fishermen employ spider leaders, triple drop leaders or the pyramid leader. Certainly, which tackle to use is a personal preference based on the type of fish you hope to catch.

It is often best to use bait caught from the same area when you are surf fishing a particular area. That is generally what the fish in the area feed on and what they generally will respond to. Consequently, you will do well to carry some smaller rods or nets in your surf fishing gear for catching the bait your prey prefers.

Moreover, landing nets are important to have when surf fishing. It is also best to have someone else along to help you bring the fish in with the help of a net. The specific net to use will depend on the type of fish that are in the area. Certainly, if your intended prey is a big fish, you will need to have a heavy-duty net handy.

Additionally, the type of water that you are fishing in determines the surf fishing equipment you should use, as good surf fishing is available in either fresh or salt water. Surf fishermen are known to enjoy fishing in rivers, lakes and other small bodies of water.

Surf fishing can be just as much fun in the ocean water, and many fishermen surf fish for trophies in salt water. This type of fishing can be enjoyed by everyone in the family, because different size species can be found in the surf. It always great fun to catch a fish, but it is also a beautiful experience to go wading through the water.

Overcoming Obstacles

by Healthy Wealthy nWise

The driving spirit of a person will determine their success. It’s not something that comes from a privileged background. Bonnie St. John can testify to this fact. Bonnie has seen success beyond most people’s wildest dreams through the Olympic Games, but it’s hard to imagine that success if you believe the stereotypes all around you.

Bonnie St. John was raised by a single mother in San Diego. They were very poor, and what’s worse is that Bonnie had to have one of her legs amputated at age five. Without any snow or money, her crazy dream was to be a skier. Her mother was always supportive of her and never tried to compensate for the disability.

Bonnie has always been motivated to succeed by her desire to see others motivated by her. She grew up hearing the same lies we all hear: blacks don’t ski; blacks don’t swim; blacks don’t play golf. All black people can do is play basketball or football. These stereotypes are simply not true at all. Today, Bonnie joins over ten thousand African-American ski club members every other year for a convention.

As a child, a friend named Barbara Warmath invited Bonnie St. John on a ski trip with her family over Christmas. This wasn’t just any old invitation. Keep in mind that Bonnie was the girl who was exempt from PE classes, rode a special bus, and was teased by the other kids. This trip was the chance of a lifetime from someone who was a true friend.

To say that Bonnie was excited about the trip is quite an understatement, but she had several obstacles to overcome before she could go. How would she be able to ski gracefully when she had only one good leg? How would she get the equipment she needed without any money? Without the luxury of the internet, she turned to the Yellow Pages and the Salvation Army.

Skiing isn’t easy for someone with two good legs, so it’s no surprise that Bonnie had a horrible time getting started. Her prosthetic leg was a much bigger challenge than she could have imagined, and since she knew nothing about skiing when she acquired her gear, she was left cold and wet by her knit mittens. Bonnie wouldn’t trade this experience for the world, though.

Bonnie St. John later found the Ski Club where she was able to find appropriate ski gear and begin training to ski. Eventually, she began racing with other amputees. The more she raced, the more she enjoyed it. The more she trained, the more she wanted to be on the U.S. Olympic Ski Team.

We can all be successful, no matter what the challenge we face. Some people have harder barriers to break than others, and some people are more creative at breaking those barriers than others, but in the end, we all have the same chance. Never give up. Never let your dreams die. Get up when you fall, and have patience.

Overcoming Challenges

by Healthy Wealthy nWise

True success doesn’t come from privilege. It comes from spirit. Bonnie St. John is a perfect example of this. If you believe the stereotypes of the world are true, you’d have a hard time believing how much success Bonnie has seen in her life as an Olympic skier. When life knocks her down, she gets right back up.

Bonnie St. John was raised by a single mother in San Diego. They were very poor, and what’s worse is that Bonnie had to have one of her legs amputated at age five. Without any snow or money, her crazy dream was to be a skier. Her mother was always supportive of her and never tried to compensate for the disability.

People will tell you that black people never ski, swim, or play golf, but this is 100% untrue. Sure there are a few big names out there like Tiger Woods, but in reality, there are a lot of black people involved in these sports. One of Bonnie’s motivations from a very early age was to do her best so that others could be motivated by her.

A friend from school invited Bonnie to go skiing when they were both just children, and it changed her life forever. Bonnie St. John was the kid nobody liked. She was exempt from PE class, she rode a special bus, and she was teased at recess. Barbara Warmath was different, though. She didn’t tease. She encouraged.

Her prosthetic leg was a much bigger challenge than she could have imagined, and since she knew nothing about skiing when she acquired her gear, she was left cold and wet by her knit mittens. Bonnie wouldn’t trade this experience for the world, though.

Later, Bonnie St. John joined the Ski Club so that she could obtain the appropriate ski gear and take skiing lessons. She was able to meet and race with many other amputees as well. The more she raced, the more she realized how much she enjoyed the challenge. She decided to train for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team.

Anyone can have success in their life. Each of us has our own obstacles to overcome. Some are tougher than others, but all can be achieved with some creativity and determination. Never give up on your passions. Live your life to the fullest, and get up each time you fall.

Bodybuilders Understanding IGF

by The Steroid Encyclopaedia Team

IGF is responsible for cell growth and differentiation in many different cell types. IGF stimulates the Type I IGF receptor and thus induces a higher level of activation of intracellular signaling molecules which are responsible for promoting cell survival by inhibition of apoptosis.

In layman’s terms it means the quantity of cells present is increased and they in turn will split and produce new cells, but at the same time it will stop other cells from cell death otherwise known as cell apoptosis.

The increase in the presence of skeletal muscle tissue is also due to the increased satellite cell activity brought on by IGF, which is also thought to be suppress the myostatin gene that is responsible for regulating ultimate cell growth and the suppression of our cortisol levels.

IGF is in fact responsible for the growth of new cells otherwise known as hyperplasia. Although this product is a lot more anabolic than standard growth hormone it is still thought more effective to use a peptide type androgen to stimulate optimum growth in the newly formed cells. The majority of people that use IGF claim that they notice an immediate effect on their appetite.

This is because the peptide uses carbohydrates faster which must be replaced since they are protein sparing. Intense pumps are noticed within the first week of administration, lipolysis is usually noticed near the end of the cycle, but usually by way of increases of lean mass which cause a higher thermogenic effect.

The majority of bodybuilders will see average lean muscle gains of between 4 and 7 pounds in completing their first IGF cycle. This is a great way to see quick muscle gains although you should see the correct guidance before you start. A great site called steroid-encyclopaedia has a link at the bottom of the article and would be a great starting point for anyone considering IGF cycles.
